Sir Douglas Bader, CBE, DSO, Bar DFC. 1910-1982.
One of Britain’s greatest fighter pilot `aces` of the second world war, even though he lost both his legs in a pre-war flying accident, he controlled the skies with his Spitfire and became more than an handful for the Germans, whether in the sky or on the ground as a prisoner.
The marble sculpture is hand finished using 90% Carrara Marble and is smooth to the touch and a very solid piece.
